Take me to the river Show me where to go Take me to the mountain Never let me go Lead me to the water Take me by the hand Let me feel the wind blow Blow across the sand Cos I feel I’m coming home. Take me to the river Lead me to the sea Show me where my heart is Show me how to be Show me where the road is Take me on a ride Let me see the sunrise Take me to the sky Cos I feel I’m coming home. Yes I feel I’m coming - home. Take me to the river Let me see the view High up in the mountains Looking down on you Show me how to get there Give a little sign Let me see the sunlight Let me see it shine Cos I feel I’m coming home. Yes I feel I’m coming home. Yes I feel I’m coming home. Yes I feel I’m coming - home.

I Kinda Know 03:52
I kinda know But I’ll ask you once again just to be sure I kinda know I’ll only end up with the poison not the cure I need it putting on a plate I need the chapter and the verse I need it from the horse’s mouth To prepare me for the worst But I kinda know I kinda know But that don’t stop the voices in my head I kinda know It was something that I said. As a way of making absolutely sure I need to the hear words pass from your lips So please don’t sugar-coat it Cos I need the truth as quoted I will ask you once again before I’m done But I kinda know As a way of making absolutely sure I need to the hear words pass from your lips So please don’t sugar-coat it Cos I need the truth as quoted I will ask you once again before I’m done But I kinda know I kinda know, I’ve had this funny feeling for a while I kinda know, I can’t think when last I saw you smile I need it putting on a plate, I need the chapter and the verse I need it from the horse’s mouth, To prepare me for the worst But I kinda know I kinda know

Once 03:40
Once I needed an army Once I needed some help Once I needed a legion To keep me safe from myself Once I needed a landscape Once I needed the trees Once I needed a hillside To make sure I could not be seen. Once I needed a rainbow. Once I needed some paint Once I needed some brush strokes To make my canvas complete Once I needed some clothing To keep me cosy and warm Once I needed a building To keep me safe from the storm Once I needed some chorus. Once I needed some verb Once I needed some noises To make sure my voice could not be heard Once I needed an army Once I needed some help

She sits each morning at the window Staring out to see Quietly devoted To truth and honesty Young life flying all around her Old life on the page She tiptoes through the minefield With kindness and with grace With balls of softest wool She spins the finest yarns With delicate precision Making sure she does no harm In suspended animation She waits to hear her fate Some answers come in time Some answers come too late I hear the truth it does not hurt me It only serves to set me free The voice I hear is just a woman Not some saintly fantasy And so the dream is gladly broken Just like the tinted glass I have not lost her in translation I have just heard her voice at last She sits each morning at the window Staring out to see Quietly devoted To truth and honesty Every day you paid the rent Every day the story told Never thought when it was over, I would get paid in solid gold.

I ache and I cry I think that I might die Before I find a way To black and white Like a mother denied I yearn for a life Like a child inside I’m looking for a sign And yet I know I will be fine Because the wind is in the wire As someone far more eloquent than me once said: I will not be denied Yes the wind is in the wire The flame is burning higher The colours fade away to black and white The trees against the sky And the clouds go skipping by Shouting out to me In words of black and white And yet I know I will be fine Because the wind is in the wire As someone far more eloquent than me once said: I will not be denied

Crumbs of comfort Can feed the soul Can shine like silver Weigh heavy like gold Make all the difference Between starve or thrive Crumbs of comfort Small delights When the lights go out When the cold wind blows When the skin turns tender When the door slams closed When the darkness comes And the days are short When the waves grow higher You can’t keep afloat Crumbs of comfort Can feed the soul Can shine like silver Weigh heavy like gold Make all the difference Between starve or thrive Crumbs of comfort Small delights

I can still hear the sirens at the edge of the field And the giant black eagle that seemingly floated without any speed And the sound of the children with long-distance Rothenburg Ocean applied to their shrill little voices At the edge of the field The iron road drew me dead straight round the bend, To far away lands and to long distance love A lifetime away from the cold stony ground where the Alfas and Brabhams would tumble around and around. At the edge of the field The sirens were calling at the edge of the field I was still partly sleeping, not fully aware of the sound that time and again would attempt to reveal a vision of home that was all the time under my feet At the edge of the field The fog is just clearing at the edge of the field And the sirens are singing so clear and so bright And the place where I came from looks further away through the opposite end of the telescope’s eye. At the edge of the field

In the house there is a hall Down the hall there is a door Through the doorway comes the sweet sound Of a foot pressed to the floor Down the path there is a gate Through the gate there is road On the road there is a chariot Of silver and of gold In the chariot Apollo rides the road to victory Victoria she takes us to the road beside the sea By the sea the sun is shining beside the golden sand where the caravans of love are full of promise in our hands Up the mountain to the playground, & the playground is on fire The flames are growing higher as they light the starry sky I’m walking through the forest I’ve kept my powder dry My blues have kept me honest Like the colour of my eyes. I’ve been walking through the forest And now I see the sky Marvin, Otis, John and Paul Proclaimed the Promised Land The promises are welcome But they fade out in our hands By the sea there is a door through the door there is a road the road is lit by neon In the neon light we glowed And the light would take us higher to the beating of the drum And the drummer said ‘you’re welcome take your pleasure while you can’ The summer turned to winter, so quiet and so cold The silent empty streets would chill the heart and chill the soul The hungry heart would cry, and the hungry soul would moan The gold would turn to metal and the sea was grey and cold But now I’m walking through the forest I’ve kept my powder dry My blues have kept me honest Like the colour of my eyes. I’ve been walking through the forest And now I see the sky
10.
When the fact and the fiction are blurred When the song that you’re singing you’ve already heard When the waves just can’t wash, away All the footsteps that you made When the sign, of the times, starts swinging again. Oooh we’re back where we came from Oooh we’re starting again Ooooh I hope it’s less painful Cos the fire is burning again. When you can feel, that the hand, fits the glove When you can hear a whisper from above When the wind is blowing your way You’ve better listen, you better sway. Cos the ground, just might be moving, again Oooh we’re back where we came from Oooh we’re starting again Ooooh I hope it’s less painful Cos the fire is burning again.
